Obituary for Mary Louvida Varner (Roberts)
Mary L. Varner
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary L. Varner of West Monroe, LA will be 10:00am Thursday, May 24, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Varner was born September 26, 1938 and passed from this life on May 20, 2018 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 79. She was an active member of the Church of Christ in Bawcomville and had a great love for her church and church family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and a friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Varner, Sr.; one son, Randy Varner; one daughter, Jennifer Lane Varner Caples; her parents, Dan and Lovenia Roberts; one grandson, Dusty Allen Varner; one granddaughter, Laney Caples; one great-grandson, Dustin Varner; and her siblings, Jimmy, Charlie, Dewitt, Doris, Effie, Mildred, Merline and Geraldine.
Survivors include her children, Kennith Varner and wife, Marilyn of Calhoun and Billy Varner and wife, Heather of Monroe; Amanda Patton, whom she loved as a daughter; one sister, Judy Lane May of Luna; one brother, Jackie Roberts of Slidell; also survived by two grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and a host of extended family and friends.
