Obituary for Willie Eugene Cook
A memorial service celebrating the life of Willie Eugene Cook will be 12pm Friday, September 28, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Drive, West Monroe, LA
Visitation will be 10am Friday, September 28, 2018 at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans’ Cemetery in Rayville, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Cook was born October 16, 1945 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on May 7, 2018 at the age of 72.
Mr. Cook proudly served his country as a US Marine. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed years of driving the bus for the NLU (ULM) sports facility. Willie loved his fur babies Sheba, Annabell, Bella, and Shadow. He enjoyed every minute of his retirement spending time with his family, and most of all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by parents, C.L. (Jack) Cook and Doris Brandon Cook; six brothers, Jackie, Donnie, Freddie, Bobbie, Tommy, Steven and two sisters, Arlene Platt and Mary Ellen Taylor.
Those left to cherish Willie’s memories include his wife of 49 years, Judy P. Cook; three sons, Carlton Lee Cook, William Eugene Cook and wife Rebecca, Royce Bryan Cook and wife Kim; one sister, Lila McCarty, and a host of extended family and friends.
