Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Sanford of Calhoun, LA will be 11:00am Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Tony Smith and Rev. Tony Ganey officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe and from 9:00am until time of service Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanford was born February 18, 1979 in West Monroe, LA and passed from this life on March 5, 2018 in Calhoun, LA at the age of 39. He was a member of the Local 629 Firefighters Union and served his community for 17+ years with the Monroe Fire Department. He was a coach for LA Elite-03 and a member of the Pine Thicket Hunting Club. Bobby was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a “soon to be” grandfather to Hudson Gage Andrews. He was owner and operator of Cypress Gutters, LLC. Bobby never met a stranger and was willing to do anything to help someone in need. He was a friend to all and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Louie Gene Sanford; his grandmother, Gaye Walker and nephew, Gage Meeks.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Sanford of Calhoun, LA; his children, Morgan Sanford, Lilly Meeks Sanford, Kylie Sanford and Kingston James Fowler all of Calhoun; his parents, Michael and Kathy Sanford of West Monroe; his mother and father-in-law, Michael and Anita Meeks of Eros; his brother, Ben Sanford and wife, Amanda of West Monroe; his sister, Beth Wilkerson and husband, Reagan of Natchitoches; his brother-in-laws, John and Reggie Meeks both of West Monroe; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Eric Payne, Daniel Bellard, Ronnie Lockwood, Sam Liggin, Ben Myers, Robby Smith, Tracy Holmes, Heather Fontana, Marcus Siller, Jeffery Lenard and Markeith Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Sellers, Slade Andrews, Gage Sanford, Carter Sanford, Tim Sellers, Reagan Wilkerson, Lincoln Wilkerson and Travis Schmaltz.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to LA Fallen Firefighter Memorial C/O The Walk of Honor Foundation 8181 Independence Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA 70806. All donations are tax deductible. The Walk of Honor Foundation is a non-profit 501C-3 organization.
