Obituary for Jeannette Lorine Erskine Vernon
Funeral service for Mrs. L Jeannette Vernon of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Danny McIlveene officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Vernon was born July 31, 1931 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on January 11, 2018 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 86. She was the owner and operator of MiMi’s Daycare in Texas alongside her husband for many years. She had a love for children, she enjoyed arts and crafts and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to all.
She proceeded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth A. Ridings; and one sister, Maureen Smith.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Albert L. Vernon; three sons, Larry M. Brown, Glenn E. Brown and Andrew W. Brown; one sister, Helen M. Adair; step-daughters, Brenda L. Stevens, Holly D. Vernon and Christy A. Vernon; also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
