Funeral services for Nita Norton will be 1:00pm Monday, January 8, 2018 at Christ Church in West Monroe, LA. Pastors Tom Lowe and Ottis Lenior officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the church.
Nita was born on September 20, 1938 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life January 3, 2018 in Monroe, LA at the age of 79. She was a charter member of Christ Church West Monroe. Nita loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a unique way of making each grandchild feel as though they were her favorite.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Gene Norton.
Those left to cherish her memory include, one son Randall Norton and his wife Debra of West Monroe, LA; two daughters, Tamara Bryan and her husband Craig of Calhoun, LA, Nita Kay Salamone and her husband Tony of Edmond, OK; Nine grandchildren, Jason Hall and Bridgette Hall of West Monroe, LA, Julia LaBorde and husband Jeremy of West Monroe, Jacob Norton and his fiancé Themis Jacobus of Monroe, LA, Stevan Bryan and wife Jessica, of West Monroe, LA., Heather Brewer and husband Luke of West Monroe, LA, Abigail Cromwell and husband Colby of Swartz, LA, Brittney Shelton and husband Mitch of Parkhills, MO, Hilarie Salomone of Edmond, OK, John Anthone Salomone of Edmond, OK; six great grandchildren, Cadie and Luke Hall, Oliver and Sebastian LaBorde, Kensill Brewer, Raegan Shelton; two sisters, Norma Lowe and husband W. R. Lowe, Kathy Bamburg and one brother Jerry Saucer and wife Sue.
