Obituary for Hayden Raye Swazey
Hayden Raye “Monkey” Swazey
Funeral services for Hayden Raye “Monkey” Swazey of Monroe, LA will be 10:00am Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Wagon Trail Ministries in West Monroe, LA with Mike Gates officiating. Interment will follow at Cypress Baptist Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Hayden was born August 4, 2009 in Natchez, MS and won his battle on October 16, 2017 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 8. He loved to play zombie games, Pokemon and fishing. He was a free-spirited person and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Leon Wolfe.
Survivors include his mother, LaShanda Temple and fiancé Gerald Wolfe; his father, Cecil Swazey; his siblings, Camry, Tre, Lane and Dallas; his grandparents, “Meme” Pat Temple, “Paw Paw” Terry Gremillion, and “Mimi” Mary Gates; great-grandmother, Iva Evans; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Wolfe, T.J. Abbotts, Jarrod Gates, John Cole, Jeremy Pradue and Dave Gore.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Hayden’s memory to the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, LA.
