Obituary for Carl Melvin Cady Jr.
Carl Melvin Cady, Jr.
Graveside services for Mr. Carl Melvin Cady, Jr. of West Monroe, LA will be 1:00pm Friday, May 26, 2017 at Chatham Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 10:00am until 12:00noon Friday at Griffin Funeral Home.
Mr. Cady was born December 31, 1949 in Monroe, LA and passed from this life on May 24, 2017 in Shreveport, LA at the age of 67. He was a member of the Flying Tiger Airplane Club of West Monroe and a member of Asbury Methodist Church. He loved his dogs and he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, camping, fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. He owned a 1986 Mustang, nicknamed “The Mule” that he loved to drag race.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Cady, Sr. and Ouida Hatten Cady; one brother, Kent Cady and one grandson, Claude Durbyn, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Kay Cady of West Monroe; four children, Karen Durbyn and husband David of Eros, Marcie Durbyn, Paul Cady and Brad Cady and wife Kayla all of West Monroe; one brother, Terry Cady and wife Sharon of Eros; his uncle, Charlie Hatten and wife Kathy of Hebert; also survived by eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Durbyn, Logan Cady, Jeffrey Croft, Steve Durbyn, Jerry Fletcher and Claude Durbyn.
