Clara Elizabeth Kirby
Memorial services for Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Kirby of Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Driscoll Chapel, First West Baptist Church in West Monroe with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mrs. Kirby was born October 6, 1926 in Lee County, MS and passed from this life on March 3, 2017 in Monroe, LA at the age of 90. She was a retired factory seamstress and a resident of Monroe. She loved animals and was a very dedicated caretaker of the farm she and her husband shared together.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer F. Kirby; her parents, John and Elizabeth Niblett; and her siblings, Naomi Tutor, Lewis Niblett, Roy Niblett, O’Neal Niblett, Ole Anderson, Bonnie Bean, Opal Crouch, Robert Anderson and Herschel Anderson.
Survivors include her daughter, Elwanda Kirby; her sister, Hazel Ray of Monroe; her step-sister, Nell Courtney of Ft. Wayne, IN; also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Hospice Compassus and to the nurses and staff of Ouachita Healthcare and Rehab., for their kind and compassionate care.
