Annie Fayrene Irvin
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Fayrene Irvin, of Chatham, LA will be 10:00am Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe with Bro. Otis Lenoir officiating. Interment will follow at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham, LA under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Griffin Funeral Home West Monroe.
Mrs. Irvin was born June 24, 1934 in Chatham, LA to the union of William and Lena Walker and passed from this life on February 18, 2017 at the age of 82.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jackson Irvin; mother, Lena Mae Madden Walker and father, William Cleveland Walker; two brothers Billy Walker and Jimmy Walker.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Head and husband Larry of West Monroe; son, Howard Lane Irvin and wife Melissa of Conway, AR; adopted daughter, Karen Sue Irvin of Alexandria, LA; sisters, Nelda Bentel of Marrero, LA and Linda Ellerbe of West Monroe, LA; two sisters in law Dorothy Walker and Joann Walker; Grandchildren: Amy Meredith and husband Sean, Jared Head, Sarah Head, Jessy Head and wife Haley, and Daniel Irvin; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jessy Head, Gavin Hinton, Todd Clark, Kevin Bentel, Greg Harris and Sean Meredith; honorary pallbearers: Daniel Irvin, Jared Head, Dennis Bentel, Joey Bentel, Justin Meredith and Jordan Meredith.
We would like to send a special thanks to these special people who so valiantly and tirelessly used their efforts and expertise to diagnose, treat, and provide the most excellent care for our loved one: a most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the most wonderful Hospitalist Group ; Dr. Sharon Joiner and ER team; CCU and telemetry nurses and support techs; Sandra Browder, NP and Cynthia Pippins, NP; Dr. Coy Gammage and Dr. Scott Barron; and very special appreciation to the nurses, support techs, and administration staff of Speciality Hospital who very lovingly cared for ‘Ms.Annie” in her last days and hours. Also, a very special thanks to her Chatham neighbors who took care of her like family every time she called.
